Scriptures that will never be the YEAR TEXT

so what scriptures do you think will never make the cut?i will start off with one to warm you all up.. 1 corinthians 4:6 - do not go beyond the things that are written,.

here's mine: i'm 14 years old, just baptised and a old boy married elder of about 60 odd comes up to me and says " ooooooooooh!

Self-righteous elder( who never liked me due to myself missing so many meetings,no field service in years,and didn't answer at the meetings) walked in a conversation with my mom. My mom had many health issues but she still didn't miss any meetings. Here is the conversation he walked unto and how disrespectful he was to me in front of my mom.

My mom: ''Are you coming over this week for a visit?''

Me : " I will come over sometime this week."

SELF RIGHTEOUS ELDER: ''MRS. R&R ...You look healthy! And, it's nice to see you at tonight's meeting."

My mom: " I may look good but have too many health issues. I wish I had my son's health."

SELF RIGHTEOUS ELDER: " But at least you have more spiritual health than your son!" And the asshole walks away.

Don't forget - after the big A there's supposed to be another 1,000 years of service meetings and preaching before Jehovah, in his infinite wisdom, releases Satan to do it all again.

After the thousands of boring, mind numbing meetings and thousands of hours in field service you needed in order to survive Armageddon,you now will need another 1,000 years of meetings and field service ( teaching all the resurrected). And, you still might not live in the new order. If that's not enough,Satan is still alive another THOUSAND YEARS to tempt you to disobey Jehovah.

What really bothered me was: Why would Jehovah kill off billions of people who disobeyed him but never killed off Satan? Why did Jehovah make it so hard even in the new order? HOW DID I EVER BELIEVE THIS CRAP?

had a quick look at the workbook and flicked through the sample meeting video.. the increased use of video shows the trend for more centralised dissemination of "best practice" .

sure there isn't really a "school" any more and the format is a bit different but i think those that called it as the same old crap just in new package got it pretty much right.

had a quick look at the workbook and flicked through the sample meeting video.. the increased use of video shows the trend for more centralised dissemination of "best practice" .

sure there isn't really a "school" any more and the format is a bit different but i think those that called it as the same old crap just in new package got it pretty much right.

Watching this video is one of the reasons why I quit attending the meetings. There is no reasoning or thinking abilities at this meeting. Everything is boring,structured,and your brain is left at the door. All you become is a Parrot who mimics back what you hear. The boredom became unbearable. I hated myself for sitting there week after week and hearing the same thing over and over until my brain hurt.

Where are the late arrivals?

Why aren't there any elders causing a commotion by whispering in someone's ear and walking around pretending they have something to say that can't wait till the meeting ends?

Where are the members who need to walk to the water fountain or go to the bathroom for the 10th time?

Why isn't there anyone so tired from a hard days work that they are nodding off?

What was the time frame?

1968- early 1980's. As to the breaks between meetings,there was a 15 break between the Sunday public talk and the Watchtower meeting.

I'm from the Midwest,U.S.A. My family started attending the meetings in 1968 and I remember sitting under the table while the book study was being conducted with an elder and family members being present.
Then,it was moved to the elder's basement when it grew to around 15 people in the early 1980's. We wore casual clothes at the home book study until a letter was sent from New York. I can't imagine where the local elders decided that they would allow casual clothes at the local book study and not listen the headquarters.

I remember that the letter was sent before 1984. We would wear casual clothes at our congregation book study. The book study was held at our elder's basement. He had no air-conditioning and we would all suffer due to the heat.
